Some time ago i saw a black and white photograph in a magazine; there were two people kissing each other seen from above. It was wartime and the man was wearing a uniform. What impressed me was their love, in spite of everything.
A few days later, i looked out of the window from upstairs and saw my son kissing his girlfriend. So I was inspired to create this quilt, with their portraits which i painted with textile paints.
I have played with different thicknesses of batting to give a three dimensional effect, and I have machine embroidered all the leaves, flowers and stones.
